I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
